WE DIDN'T REHEARSE NKWA BODOO SONG - KODA
As the saying goes, "music is the food for the soul" but here is the case where music tracks has to pass through lengthy processes before been produced for human consumption.
Gone were the days when musicians spends months on a single song before its production. This is different in our days, because some artist spends one or two, and mostly a week on a single track in the studio and the song is ready to go...
But on the part of Kofi Owusu Dua Anto known in the music industry as "KODA" says his hit track (Nkwa Bodoo) was in a different scenario.
Speaking to Sir Walker on Nkwa 88.1 FM Mid-Morning Show, KODA said, "There was no rehearsal or studio session with my bands men towards the creation of the song "Nkwa Abodoo".
"The first time my bands men heard me sang the song was on that same faithful day on stage when I called Nacce to join me from the crowd as witnessed in the video" he remarked.
We can all attest to the fact that the original version of the song was sang in the early day's churches but Koda said all the individual skills displayed in his version by his bands men from the drummer, guitarist, keyboardist, konkarist and all the other players involved which was directed by his lyrical content were created on same day on stage.
The renowned Gospel musician who sings in the Akan-Fante dialect, continued to revealed that, the song came to him on one memorable Sunday morning, when he was dozen off in the sitting room in his apartment in Takoradi when the song echoed through, from a nearby Pentecost church, and as an artist he decided to create something out of God's word.
Story by Sir Walker.
